The meaning of lighting candles for a loved one

James 5:16 says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” Lighting a candle, while an excellent expression of faith and honor to God, does not have to be a private, independent action. We are told not only to pray for ourselves, but for the healing and wellbeing of other fellow believers.
