  • James 5:16 says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” Lighting a candle, while an excellent expression of faith and honor to God, does not have to be a private, independent action. We are told not only to pray for ourselves, but for the healing and wellbeing of other fellow believers. Love is a prevalent theme throughout the Bible, and so if we love our neighbors, we should intercede for them in prayer.

Fortunately, we are giving you the opportunity to light a candle online for a loved one. If you want to pray for a friend or for family but simply can’t make it to Jerusalem, let us do the heavy lifting. You don’t have to worry about losing the passion, the intentions, or the personal touch. We would love to light a candle for your loved one, treating him or her as our own brother or sister in Christ. We are all a part of the body of Christ, and the candle lighting process is a way for us to unite with each other and with God. Why stress about the hassle of doing something special for a loved one when you can simply light a candle online?

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” God rewards great faith, and when we have faith, we reward ourselves with a better state of mind. You can pray for emotional healing, physical healing, or spiritual healing; but there truly is no healing that is not covered by the great love of Christ. If your loved one lacks faith, intercede for them with your own faith, praying that their eyes would be opened. Lighting a candle is not a time for us to take advantage of Jesus like a slot machine, but to feel His presence and ask Him to have a real encounter and relationship with His people.

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We all have our faults, flaws, and shortcomings. But in forgiving each other and showing the love of Christ in spite of those imperfections, we can become more like Him. Light a candle not as a substitute for faith, but as a way to celebrate your faith. Now is the time to praise God through His creation, and to praise Him for His creation. When you light a candle online for a loved one, you are giving glory and thanks to the God who created them.
